Room-by-Room Packing Guide

Each room needs a different approach. Here is how each area of your home is usually packed.

Kitchen

Plates and bowls go in boxes with bubble wrap between each item. Glasses are wrapped individually. Sharp knives go in a separate sealed case. Heavy items like pressure cookers go at the bottom of the box.

Bedroom

Mattresses are covered to keep them clean and dry. Wardrobes are wrapped in stretch film. Bed frames are dismantled and packed flat. Small drawer items go in labeled zip-lock bags.

Living Room

Sofas are covered and wrapped in stretch film. TVs go in their original box if available, or a well-padded carton. Decorative items are individually wrapped in tissue paper and bubble wrap.

Children Room

Toys go in soft-sided bags, not heavy cartons. Bicycles are deflated and wrapped. Study tables are dismantled. Mark all boxes as "fragile" if they contain toys with small parts.

Bathroom

Seal all liquid bottles with tape before packing. Place bottles upright in a waterproof bag inside the carton. Discard old or expired products to reduce weight.
